This table is perfect for entertaining up to six people (although our editor says she has it on her patio and has gathered eight around it comfortably). It also has an umbrella hole, so you can add one easily on extra sunny days.

While this table is not ideal for small balconies and can’t be easily stored (it’s pretty heavy to move longer distances and is quite large), it’s durable and stylish enough to leave out year-round. You can also cover it in the winter for extra protection, but our editor has left it uncovered from time to time for over two years and hasn’t reported any issues or rust (she said it still looks like new). We also like that it is reasonably priced, considering that it will last for many seasons and doesn’t have a look that will go out of style too easily. Also, since the table blends different styles, it should match easily with your existing chairs, or you can purchase an additional one from this line from Home Depot. In fact, our editor has used it with bistro chairs, small outdoor couches, and other chairs, and they all blend in nicely.

For smaller patios, we recommend the budget-friendly Lark Manon Hesson Metal Dining Table. We like that it is similar to our Best Overall option in durability and sturdiness but compact enough for small balconies or patios, all at a lower price point. It is available in four finishes, so you can pick one that matches your decor, and it also has a simple enough design to match chairs you may already have.

Since it has a hole for an umbrella, you can add one in any design you choose to add a pop of color or shade on a sunny day. You do need to assemble it, but customers say it only takes about an hour to put it together. And although it only seats four and doesn’t expand or fold for storage, it is the right size for smaller spaces and doesn’t take up much room if left out all year.

After putting this Better Homes and Gardens patio set through its paces, we were impressed by its good looks and sturdiness (Better Homes & Gardens is owned by The Spruce’s parent company, Dotdash Meredith). The chairs’ steel frames and beautiful all-weather wicker are built to last and add comfort and elegance to your outdoor space. The table boasts a sleek modern design featuring a steel-embossed woodgrain tabletop that’s resistant to rust.

During the two weeks of testing the patio set, there were a few days of heavy rain. However, the metal tabletop did an excellent job of repelling water and showed no signs of rust or corrosion, even after the rain had stopped. The cushions absorbed some water, but we allowed them to dry completely before restoring them to their original state. Although the dining table doesn’t have a cover, we suggest covering it when not in use to preserve its quality.

The set is undeniably excellent and sturdy, although it’s important to mention that the black frame can get quite hot when exposed to the sun. To ensure a more pleasant outdoor experience, we suggest using a patio umbrella to provide shade. Nevertheless, this patio dining set beautifully complements outdoor spaces and provides a cozy seating option for unwinding or enjoying a meal.
